Artist Statement

My inspiration comes by the word of God and is influenced by the world around me. It is expressed through my emotions using color, texture, and design.
My vision is to share my inner emotions that are exposed by the Holy Spirit through my art. I also want to teach others how to use art as an expression of who they are. I believe art can be used as a form of healing and way to communicate without words.
Other works I have done are inspired by specific experiences and trials of my life. I also try to capture thoughts, emotions and visions from certain dreams as a release and as a way of understanding.
My mission in life is to use my gift from God to inspire others and encourage them to explore thier talent as a tool for communication and emotional healing.
My goal is to reach a higher level in my creative vision through the interpretation of God's word.
My prayer is for everyone to find a way to heal spiritually as well as emotionally through the gift of art.

Hello,
Welcome to my website and my little cyber home! Here you will get to know me a lot better. You will also see more information about my company, and who I am as an artist. I hope that I can serve your artistic needs professionally and that you will enjoy and understand my art on a much deeper level.

My name is Brenda Kay Anderson-Deyo. I am the artist and owner of Brenda’s Creations Art Studio and Gallery. My husband Roger Deyo and I opened our little studio in 2016 but Brenda's Creations began in 2011 simply in my garage and  teaching in my student's  homes.  I have been artist, but most of my life it was only as a hobby. Brenda's Creations began as a simple vision of teaching and selling art but today it has become much, much, more.

This is my simple testimony and how I got started as an artist.
When I was just 5 years old, my grandmother who is also a professional fine artist, business owner, and loving woman of God put a paintbrush in my hand and allowed me to paint a pink flower on the painting she was working on. I still have that very same painting hanging in my house today. Ever since then, I fell in love with art!

Today along with being a professional artist, I still love to teach beginner art lessons, I also host painting workshops, entertain with live painting and still creating new art.

I was born and raised in Texas.
I am mostly self- taught. My grandmother did give me few in home lessons and taught me how to paint with oils, but I now prefer acrylics so I took time to study, read, and practice with acrylics on my own. I chose to work with acrylics because it allows me the freedom of expression through color and master my technique more quickly. I also love the bright variety of colors and the versatility of the medium. Not to mention its a lot less expensive! :)

Today, I am a strong Christian woman and my faith influences my art in a powerful way. I am very inspired by the word of God and I believe that when I paint I am lead by the Holy Spirit. Not to sound overs-spiritual but when I go into my own creative closet, read, meditate on the word and worship God, my art seems to be more intense with a stronger message of the love of Christ. Sometimes I paint the interpretation of my dreams and visions and I have even been asked to paint for others their dreams and visions. I still paint other things like animals, flowers, and landscapes from pictures I take but my first love is the illustrations I find when I read my bible.
My prayer is that my art, ministers through imagery and interpretation of God's word in a visual and healing way and that it can speak to the soul of the lost and hurting people without using words.

Art has always been like therapy for me and I love to share my spiritual experiences with others. Painting allows me to express how I feel and gives me a way to release stress through my creative process.  Through my faith in Jesus and using my art to express myself and how I have overcome my past and become who I am today. The word has also influenced my teaching style and helped me create a simple but basic curriculum that I use when I teach. I believe we were all created to be co-creators with God himself and that we have a responsibility to create the life we want.

My future goals are to own and operate a larger studio and gallery with enough space where students can come learn about Jesus and create art, A place where new artists are discovered and given an opportunity to be seen, and a place that provides a safe family environment for the whole community can enjoy art.

I feel that m
y greatest accomplishments in life are not who I am now, or what I’ve done so far,  But how I am being prepared for what God wants me to do with the gift he has given me.
I am not only ready to move forward in God's time but according to his plan I wish to make an impact and shine the light of Jesus in the dark world of art.  I also want to make a difference for someone by building their confidence by teaching them art. I believe we can all be a positive influence in a creative way without using our own words but artistically through the one word that created it all,  JESUS!

My foundational bible verse for everything I do is the one my grandmother taught me and still stand on today:
Philipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
